On the nonexistence of universal information structures
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper extends the nonexistence result of Heifetz and Samet (Games Econ. Behav. 22 (1998) 260–273). They have shown that there exists no universal knowledge space to which every knowledge space can be mapped in a knowledge-preserving manner. We show that an analogous nonexistence result holds in the more general context of information structures. These structures can be viewed as generalizations of knowledge spaces that describe nonprobabilistic beliefs. r 2003 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved. JEL classification: C72; D80; D82

An investigation on regular relations of universal hyperalgebras
In this paper, by considering the notion of $Sigma$-hyperalgebras for an arbitrary signature $Sigma$, we study the notions of regular and strongly regular relations on a $Sigma$-hyperalgebra, $mathfrak{A}$. We show that each regular relation which contains a strongly regular relation is a strongly regular relation. Then we concentrate on the connection between the fundamental relation of $mathf...
متن کاملManagement accounting research methodologies: searching for the bests
Management needs qualitative and comprehensive information for decision making. Managers are always searching for useful information in order to reach their firm's goals and strategies. The development in technology, globalization and focusing on costumers needs has changed the information that managers need to maintain their position in a competitive environment and take advantage of profitabl...
متن کاملUniversal Triple I Method for Fuzzy Reasoning and Fuzzy Controller
As a generalization of the triple I method, the universal triple Imethod is investigated from the viewpoints of both fuzzy reasoningand fuzzy controller. The universal triple I principle is putforward, which improves the previous triple I principle. Then, unified form of universal triple I method is established based onthe (0,1)-implication or R-implication. Moreover, the reversibilityproperty o...
متن کاملNonexistence of generalized bent functions and the quadratic norm form equations
We obtain the nonexistence of generalized bent functions (GBFs) from (\ZZ/t\ZZ)^n to \ZZ/t\ZZ (called type [n,t]), for a large new class. Specifically, by showing certain quadratic norm form equations have no integral points, we obtain the universal nonexistence of GBFs with type [n, 2p^e] for all sufficiently large p with respect to n and (p-1)/\ord_2(p), and by computational methods with a we...
متن کاملRough ideals based on ideal determined varieties
The paper is devoted to concern a relationship between rough set theory and universal algebra. Notions of lower and upper rough approximations on an algebraic structure induced by an ideal are introduced and some of their properties are studied. Also, notions of rough subalgebras and rough ideals with respect to an ideal of an algebraic structure, which is an extended notion of subalgebras and ...
